Abstract

Integrated Disease Management (IDM) approach was carried out to combat pigeonpea wilt with a combination of fungicides, bio agents, organic amendments and different cropping systems in kharif seasons of four years viz., 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Based on the performance, four treatments were identified as best practices for the management of pigeonpea wilt viz., carbendazim seed treatment @ 2 g/kg of seeds + Trichoderma viride @ 2.5 kg/ha in FYM @ 50 kg / ha recorded lowest mean wilt incidence of 11.38 per cent with highest mean yield of 969.18 kg/ha, followed by carbendazim seed treatment @ 2g/Kg of seeds + ZnSo4 @ 25 kg/ha which recorded mean wilt incidence of 11.75 per cent with mean yield 951.25 kg/ha. However, Trichoderma viride seed treatment @ 5g/kg of seeds + Trichoderma viride @ 2.5 kg/ha in FYM @ 50 kg/ha which recorded mean wilt incidence of 11.97 per cent and yield of 929.63 kg/ha and pigeonpea intercrop with sorghum @ 1:1 recorded mean wilt incidence of 17.62 per cent and yield of 632.18 kg/ha were also found effective in controlling wilt incidence and increasing yield compared to untreated control which recorded highest wilt incidence of 53.04 per cent and lowest yield (314.95 kg/ha).

Abstract

In this paper, the sub synchronous resonance (SSR) for IEEE second benchmark system is investigated using Mat lab based on the Power System Block-set (PSB) in conjunction with Simulink. The effects of series compensation level and fault amount of power delivery on SSR are investigated. The main objective of this work is to study the behavior of the SEN transformer to an induction–generator (IG) effect as well as torsional interactions (TI) in a wind farm. In order to conduct the studies, the IEEE first benchmark model on SSR is adapted with the combination of self–excited induction generator (SEIG) based wind turbine.

Abstract

In this paper, a circularly polarized omnidirectional slotted antenna is presented for ISM applications. The proposed antenna made with a feedline in the ground plane, an annular elliptical slot and four rectangular slots etched on radiating patch and semicircular patch slots are used to achieve circular polarization. The ground plane feed line impedance value is 50 ohms. The substrate used here is FR4 and its relative permittivity 4.4 and loss tangent 0.02. Antenna dimensions are 58mm×58mm×1.6mm. The antenna is resonating at 2.45 GHz with return loss of -31.12dB. The impedance bandwidth covers from 2.02 GHz to 2.77 GHz (% B.W is 30.6%). The proposed antenna design and simulation carried out using HFSS Simulator. The antenna show high gain characteristics, omnidirectional radiation pattern, high efficiency, circular polarization and better co and cross polarizations. The proposed antenna can be effectively useful for ISM and WLAN applications.
