Abstract

The technological advancements of Internet have increased the population of images, which demands effective retrieval mechanisms. Search engines have become indispensable tools for retrieving relevant images from WWW. Therefore it becomes necessary for retrieval systems that retrieve documents with images. In this paper, we present the comprehensive review on the state-of-the-art literature on text and shape based feature extraction methods and retrieval schemes. The literature review has brought out the research issues in both Text Based Image Retrieval and Content Based Image Retrieval schemes. These issues and problems associated with the existing TBIR and CBIR techniques has been  identified through literature review, which laid the foundation of many image retrieval techniques.

Abstract

Objectives: Vibrations are propagated onto a UAV camera mount; this leads to improper images. We analyze the vibrations occurring in and come up with a solution to suppress them. Methods/Analysis: The vibrations occurring in a quadcopter are first measured by using a piezoelectric element, and then the existing algorithms for vibration suppression are compared. The data recorded is then imported in MATLAB and the NLMS algorithm is applied on it. Following this we generate a vibration, measure it and generate an anti-vibration to cancel it to prove the concept of vibration suppression. Findings: The best suited algorithm among the LMS, Fx-LMS and the NLMS algorithms is the NLMS algorithm because it has an estimate for the step factor and is stable. The main frequency of vibrations of the quadcopter camera mount is measured as 17.91Hz. The measured frequency from the generated vibrations of 25Hz is 23.17Hz. The vibrations after suppression are found to be lesser in intensity. Application/Improvements: The concept stated could find application in suppressing vibrations occurring in a quadcopter camera mount. A frequency tracking algorithm could be developed additionally to suppress vibrations of varying frequencies.

Abstract

Aceclofenac is a Non- Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drug indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation, associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteo arthritis, ankylosing, spondylitis. The percentage of dissolution rate of drug released from pure Aceclofenac was obtained 26.48% in 180min. The aim of the study was to enhance the dissolution rate on solid dispersion of Aceclofenac by using PEG6000 as carrier in three different ratios such as ACF:PEG6000-1:1, 1:2 and 1:4 by fusion method or melting method. The percentage of drug release of Aceclofenac from solid dispersions ACF:PEG6000-1:1,1:2 and 1:4 was 59.65%,84.75%,98.34% respectively in 180min. Aceclofenac from solid dispersions due to enhancing effect of PEG6000.

Abstract

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Combination of antihypertensive therapy with an inhibitor of the reninangiotensin system (RAS) and a calcium channel blocker (CCB) is a rational approach to achieve blood pressure (BP) goals in patients with hypertension, and may provide additional cardiovascular protection compares to others strategies in special population. This article reviews the rationale for, and evidence supporting, the use of newer fixed-dose combinations of RAS inhibitors and CCBs with particulars emphasis on perindopril/ amlodipine.

METHODS: A total of 120 patients enrolled in the study from general medicine department in tertiary care hospital. The document data were evaluated for use of comparative efficacy between amlodipine + metoprolol, amlodipine + atenolol, amlodipine + enalapril. RESULTS: A total of 120 hypertension patients were included in the study. All those who were included in the study were from <40 to > 70 years. In the study out of 120 patients 2.52% of patients were in the age of less than 40 years, 11.6% of patients were in the group of 41-50 years, 21.66% of patients were age group of 51-60 years, 34.16% of patients were in the age group of 61-70years and 30% of patients were in the age group of more than 70 years. Based on the combination therapies the patients were divided into two groups. Totally 60 patients in each group. Each group has a more patients ratio between the age groups of 51-60 and 61-70.

CONCLUSION: Overall the study results conclude that a combination of amlodipine with atenolol therapy have greater impact on control BP, when compared with amlodipine + metoprolol , amlodipine + enalapril therapies. The benefits were more with combinational therapy in comparison to monotherapy.

Abstract

Introduction: Physical inactivity is increasing among children and adolescents and may be contributing to the increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity. Only 30% of adolescents perform sufficient physical activity . Sedentary behaviours, especially watching TV, sitting at the computer and playing video games/mobile phones, are increasing among children. Aim: To assess the level of physical activity and sedentary behaviour among overweight adolescents and to examine the association between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and screen time with BMI. Materials and Method: Participants were 140 overweight adolescents aged 11-14 years from 2 Urban schools of Puducherry. They were assessed for their physical activity and sedentary behaviour by using Modified Physical Activity Questionnaire -Older children and Adolescent Sedentary Activity questionnaire. The analysis was carried out using SPSS Statistics Version 25. Linear Regression coefficient was used to examine the association between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and screen time with BMI. Results: More than half of the overweight adolescents (58%) engaged in low levels of physical activity with females being more physically inactive than males. Likewise the mean time spent in sedentary behaviour was more than 12 hours/day with a SD of 3.83. The mean time spent in screen time was 8 hours/day with a SD of 2.56. Use of smart phones contributed largely to the screen time that was significant at p<0.001. Linear Regression analysis implies that screen time was positively associated with BMI at P<0.05. Conclusion: Overall, the current study has indicated a low prevalence of physical activity and high sedentary behaviour among overweight adolescents.
