Solanum leave Dunal var biegninatum is small shrub is used by the tribals as a medicinal plant. The objective of the present investigation was to study the anti inflammatory, antipyretic and anti fungal activity potential in experimental animal models. The isolated compounds obtained from the chromatography after the extraction completed were used for (SA-I, SA-II, SA-III) these studies. Anti inflammatory potential of isolated compounds (SA-I, SA-II, SA-III) was evaluated by Carrageenan induced paw edema method in rats. Also antipyretic activity was tested on animal models. The studies were conducted on wistar rats of either sex (160-180g). The change in edema volume of the rat hind paw was measured using plethysmometer. The SA-III of isolated compound of Solanum leave dunal inhibited the formation of edema to significant levels in rats treated with carrageenan. At a dose of 100mg/kg orally, the SA-III produced 40.90% inhibition in case of the carrageenan induced edema (p<0.01).
The isolated compounds of Solanum leave Dunal (SA-I, SA-II,SA-III) were also evaluated for antipyretic activity on animals as per Vogel's method. Solanum leave Dunal elicited a dose dependent inhibition of rectal temperature compared with control group. The isolated compound SA-II having maximum antipyretic activity which was compared with standard inhibition at 300mg/kg p.o.
The fungal activity of the isolated compounds (SA-I,SA-II,SA-III) were prepared at various concentration of 1%,2% and 3% solution respectively. In this the compound SA-II(C) having significant antifungal activity compared with other compound against Candida albicans.
The results indicated that the isolated compounds (SA-I,SA-II,SA-III) were active against all the experimentally induced laboratory models of inflammation, pyretic activities and also antifungal activity.

Apoptosis, a form of programmed cell death, is a pivotal defense against the occurrence of cancer and is essential to metazoans in maintaining tissue homeostasis. Apoptosis exhibits a distinctive phenotype and involves elimination of potentially deleterious cells. Many diseases have been associated with aberrantly regulated apoptotic cell death, ultimately leading to inhibition of apoptosis and propagation of diseases such as cancer. This review highlights the significance of apoptosis, molecular mechanisms of apoptosis and various methods of causing cell death. Keywords

Formulated oil a Siddha formulation was developed using two plant drugs namely Pongamia pinnata seeds and Boerhaavia diffusa ischolar_mains. Preliminary physio chemical screening was performed in both the plants. The wound healing activity was studied with comparison of Sesame oil and Formulated oil by using standard nitro furazone ointment. The methods used were Excision wound model, Incision wound model and Dead space wound model. In excision and incision wound model the formulated oil treated group showed much greater increase in the tensile strength when compared to the control, which was almost similar to that of nitro furazone. In the dead space wound model both the sesame oil and formulated oil produced a significant increase in the wet granuloma tissue weight as well as in the dry weight .Tensile strength was also found to be increased (P<0.001) in both of the oil treated groups. Keywords

The present study was carried out to investigate the anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and anti fungal activity of of petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and ethanolic extract obtained from Gmelina asiatica. All the extracts were prepared from aerial parts of Gmelina asiatica by hot percolation method in soxhlet apparatus. All extracts of Gmelina asiatica were tested for antibacterial efficacy against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi and pseudomonas aeruginosa and antifungal efficacy against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. The Antibacterial and Anti fungal effect produced by petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and ethanol extract were comparable to that of Amikacin and Griseofulvin. The Chloroform extract was found to be more effective and showed Anti bacterial and antifungal activity against the entire organism tested. All the extracts at dose concentration (500 mg/kg) were screened for antimicrobial activity. The ethanolic extract of Gmelina asiatica at (250 and 500 mg/kg) concentrations exhibited anti inflammatory activity in carrageenan induced rat paw oedema, histamine induced odema, dextran induced odema and cotton pellet induced granuloma method, and the results are compared to that of standard drug Indomethacin. The results were found to be significiant (P<0.001) when compared to control. Keywords

An audio watermarking technique using spikegram is introduced. Here spikegram is a representation of an audio signal. Two techniques – FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and Angular Spectrum are used to produce the spikegram. An efficient embedding technique known as two-dictionary approach is used which considers signs and phases of gammatones in the audio signal to increase the effectiveness. In addition to spikegram an image with key is embedded to further maximize the security. Proposed technique’s efficiency is improved and is shown via several simulation results executed in MATLAB. Several parameters are measured such as MSE (Mean Square Error), PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) for both the input audio signal and the Watermarked signal to mathematically study the variations in the signals. The embedded signal and image are retrieved from Watermarked signal so as to prove the Copyrights.
