The main goal of data visualization is to communicate information clearly and effectively through graphical means. In the new millennium, data visualization has become an active area of research, teaching, and development. There are different types of open source software available in market to improve the visualizing capabilities like Weka3.6, ORANGE, MATLAB 6.0 etc., of which MATLAB an advanced interactive software package specially designed for scientific and engineering computation. Data mining is a "knowledge discovery process of extracting previously unknown, actionable information from very large databases". Data mining is an information extraction activity, where it searches for consistent pattern and/or systematic relationship between variables. Data Clustering is similar to classification in which, the objects of similar properties is placed in one class of objects. Conventional clustering or crisp clustering assigns objects to exactly one cluster whereas in rough clustering an object may display characteristics of different clusters. The objective of clustering is to find the right groups or clusters, for the given set of objects.Keywords

Glaucoma is the largesteye disease which affects the optic nerve head and results in visual impairment. In this paper, we analyze the various segmentation algorithms for glaucoma detection using color fundus images and spectral domain Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images of same subjects. In fundus images, the disc and the cup regions are segmented separately with four different segmentation algorithms namely Otsu method, Region growing, Hill climbing and Fuzzy C-means clustering algorithms. In OCT images, the cup and the disc diameter were measured by segmenting the retinal nerve fibre and retinal pigment epithelium layers. From both the analysis, the Cup to Disc Ratio (CDR) is calculated and compared with the clinical values. The experimental results show that the performance error in the OCT image analysis is less when compared to the fundus image analysis. Thus, it can be concluded that glaucoma detection can be done more effectively using OCT image analysis.Keywords

Mobility is one of the major problems encountered by the visually impaired people in their daily life. So they need assistance for their mobility. The main aim of this project is to provide an economical smart travelling guide for the visually impaired. This device is designed in the way that it will detect the static obstacles, moving obstacles such as human and vehicles by the use of array of ultrasonic sensors and camera. Haar cascade classifier is used to detect the moving obstacles from the camera. The intimation about the obstacles are given to the visually impaired by the use of buzzer. Various devices are available in the market which are designed in a way that are to be held in the hands. The advantage of this project is to provide a smart travelling guide for the visually impaired with hands free environment.Keywords

Robotic mapping and exploration is an important contribution in the area of SLAM for autonomous robots. The autonomous mapping learning problem is focused in the content. Solutions includes uncertainty - driven exploration, active loop closing and coordination of multiple robots, learning and incorporation background knowledge and dealing with dynamic environments. One requirement of SLAM is a range measurement device, of the method for observing the environment around the robot. Laser sensor such as LIDAR is the most common measuring device. Laser sensor are easy to use and very precise however, they are also extremely expensive.
Thus sonar can be used and the device is especially useful for mapping underwater environment. This optical reader can came in 2D or even 3D formats. Plotting the data of US sensor which is rotating a 360 degree, will yield a map of one plane. By The height of the setup consequent plane's map can be obtained.

Happiness is a choice. Valerie Bertineli, says there's going to be stress in life, but it's your choice whether you let it affect you or not. Happiness is a mental state of well-being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intensejoy. The way you seethe world and attribute it matters a lot in how you conceive happiness. Julian Rotter, developed the concept of “locus of control”, the degree to which individuals believe they have the ability to control what happens to them (internal) or how much they think that forces beyond their control affect their situation external. The present study is conducted with an objective to evaluate the effect of Integrated Psychotherapy on Happiness and Locus of Control among Institutionalized adolescents. A total sample of 30 institutionalizes adolescents identified with the age range of l 4to 18 years, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria from Kannur district of Kerala. The tools used for the study are Oxford Happiness Questionnaire by Michael Argyle and Peter Hills and Internal- External Locus of Control Inventory by Venkatapathy. Paired t-test was conducted for finding statistical analysis and the results revealed that there is a significant change in the level of happiness as well as in dimensions of locus of control before and after intervention especially in the internality and Powerful others. Whereas the chance as a dimension of locus of control did not seem to change.Keywords

The current research focuses to identify and understand socially challenged adolescents among normal school population rather than adolescents with physical handicaps and mental challenges/handicaps. The rationale of the research underlies with the hike in adolescent's major and minor crimes, suicidal attempts and misconduct over the last few years. Socially challenged adolescents have a constellation of problems especially behavioural, social, emotional and cognitive. There are numerous studies related to special children who have disabilities in social, emotional, physical and mental health areas. But people fail to identify these problems markedly the social challenges faced by normal children or adolescence. The objective of the investigators is to understand the significance of social environment in which a person grow and thus identify the socially challenged adolescents and their characteristics with the aid of strong literature review. The study revolves around the definition, characteristics and problems faced by these populations. It also helps in determining the proper intervention for identified problems through literature support. Thus this entire review study assists the researchers for future empirical analysis thereby helping the teachers and parents to understand their child and give more attention or appropriate measures in upbringing them.Keywords

Tribes have their own way of life, culture, and methods of living, but despite this, they continue to face longstanding social and economic hardships. While there are growing worries about their socio-economic issues, their understanding of psychosocial issues is not thoroughly examined. The current study is conducted to identify and consolidate the psychological and social difficulties faced by tribal adolescents through existing literature.30 empirical research papers were reviewed for understanding the issues. Results revealed that tribal students are facing many psycho-social challenges in their lives. Tribal students have low levels of Self-esteem, Psychological Hardiness, Achievement needs, Social and Psychological Issues, behavioral problems, academic achievement, and self-confidence compared to their counterparts. There is a need for structuring and implementing interventions to enhance the psycho-social skills of tribal students.Keywords

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS/PCOD) is a common endocrine disorder that had been identified among Women of the reproductive age group. Clinical symptoms are excess androgen, polycystic ovaries and ovarian disorder. It disrupts the Emotional and Social Well-being of these women. The complications include anxiety, depression, other mood disturbances and also undermining their social well-being. Emotional and Social functioning are affected at a greater rate in comparison to physical functioning areas in PCOS women. The aim of the research was to study the Effectiveness of Benson Relaxation Therapy and Supportive Therapy on Emotional and Social Well-being among PCOS Women. Before-After-Follow up Experimental Design was followed. 100 PCOS women were selected using Purposive sampling method. The results were analysed by SPSS 21st version using Descriptive statistics, Repeated Measures of Analysis of Variance and Bonferroni Post-hoc test. The results indicated that Emotional and Social well-being were enhanced by the Intervention. This depicts the effectiveness of Benson relaxation therapy and Supportive Therapy on Emotional and Social Well-being among PCOS women. The intervention applied had reduced psychological symptoms of Emotional and Social Well-being which might support the Gynecologist in treating the clinical symptoms among PCOS women. This research concludes that clinical features of PCOS affect the Emotional and Social Well-being women with PCOS, and the application of the Intervention would be fruitful in enhancing their physical and mental health.

According to a national study on US youth children in 2021, cyberbullying peaks between the ages of 14 and 15. Cyberbullying is defined as a wilful and repetitive injury caused by computers, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. Bullying's psychological consequences have been proven to be more harmful among children in their early teens. This might be concerning because adolescent growth is critical to developing a healthy personality in maturity. The presence of an Om syllable throughout the Upanishads, Bhagwat Gita, and Vedas elevates it to Hinduism's most significant sacred symbol. Om mediation has been practically proven form to reduce stress and anxiety. Assertiveness training is a sort of behaviour therapy that focuses on strengthening individuals' assertive, self-assured conduct and teaching them a more confident, successful communication style. The present study is conducted with the objective to examine the effect of Multimodal therapy on Cyberbullying and Psychological distress among adolescent students. A total number of 50 adolescent students were identified with the age range of 12-15 years, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria from the Coimbatore district. The tools used for the study were Kessler's Scale by Kessler KC and Cyberbullying scale by Cigdem Topcu. Paired t-test was conducted for finding the statistical analysis and the result revealed that there is a significant change in the level of Cyberbullying and Psychological distress before and after the intervention. The multimodal therapy intervention is effective in reducing the levels of cyberbullying and psychological distress.
