Abstract

A simple, specific, accurate and precise high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the determination of Amlodipine in Amlodipine besylate tablet dosage forms. A Hypersil BDS C8 5 μm (250×4.6 mm I.D) with column temperature 25°C in isocratic mode, with mobile phase containing Acetonitrile:10 mM KH₂PO₄ buffer pH 3.0 (35:65) was used. The flow rate was 1.5 mL/min and effluent was monitored at 237 nm. The retention time of Amlodipine was 6.5 min. The linearity for Amlodipine was in the range 0.02 mg/mL to 0.12 mg/mL. The proposed method is accurate, precise, specific and rapid estimation of Amlodipine in Amlodipine besilate tablets.

A Hypersil BDS C₁₈ 5 μm (250×4.6 mm I.D) with column temperature 30°C in isocratic mode, with mobile phase containing Acetonitrile:10 mM Ammonium acetate buffer pH 4.0 (50:50) was used. The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and effluent was monitored at 238 nm.The retention time of Amlodipine was 2.5 min and for Atorvastatin was 4.7 min. The linearity for Amlodipine and Atorvastatin was in the range 0.02 mg/mL to 0.12 mg/mL. The proposed method is accurate, precise, specific and rapid estimation of Amlodipine and Atorvastatin in Amlodipine besilate and Atorvastatin tablets.
