The Asian Journal of Experimental Chemistry, Vol 7, No 1 (2012), Pagination: 15-18Abstract
A laboratory study was analyzed to observe the ground water quality of residential areas (Higher Income Group, Minimum Income Group, Lower Income Group, Juggi Jhopari, and Industrial Area) of Kanpur metro by examining the chemical parameter like calcium (Ca+2), magnesium (Mg+2), sulphate (SO4-2), chloride (Cl-), fluoride (F-) and nitrate (NO3-) as per the method assessment of ground water quality described in Standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and WHO. The result revealed that much variation was observed during October to April, most parameters decreased during summer and increase during the rainy season and then began to decrease again in winter followed by summer. HIG groundwater appeared to be the best ground water available in Kanpur metro.Keywords

This paper presents the distribution of heavy metals profile in ground water system during rainy season. In this study, five residential areas (Higher Income Group I-V, Minimum Income Group I-V, Lower Income Group I-V, Juggi Jhopari I-V, and Industrial Area I-V) were chosen and ground water samples were collected to determine the concentrations of heavy metals such as iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), manganese (Mn) and nickel (Ni). In this study, most of the heavy metals concentrations were exceeded to the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) as specified in the WHO standard for drinking water. These results played an important role in order to determine and visualize the location. Hence, these results can help the local authorities to take an action in terms of remediation purpose.Keywords

Three neem based pesticides viz., Neem Plus, Neemark and Nimba at all the concentrations tested (0.5-2.5%) exhibited feeding effect on lemon butterfly, Papilio demoleus Linn., Feeding deterrency of neem based pesticides increased with increase in the concentration. Among the neem based pesticides tested, azadirachtin rich Neemark exhibited maximum efficacy followed by Nimba and Neem Plus.Keywords

Laboratory studies on the antifeeding effect of azadirachtin on the Tobacco caterpillar, Spodoptera litura Fab. showed that neem based pesticide may be efficacious for the control of this insect. Based on the laboratory studies commercial neem pesticides, Nimba, Neemark and Neem Plus against Spodoptera litura Fab. Azadirachtin-rich Neemark proved very effective at deterring feeding of the Spodoptera litura.Keywords

Investigation were carried out to scrutinize the effect of different neem based pesticides, viz., Neemazal, Bioneem, Neemgold, Nimbicidine and Achook on germination of cabbage seeds at different concentrations. The effectiveness of the experimental pesticides in respect of seed germination could be arranged in following descending order. Nimbicidine > Bioneem > Neemgold > Neemazal > Achook As regard the phytotoxic effect of neem-based pesticides due to seed treatment, it was found that no such symptom like chlorosis, yellowing, curling or burning of the leaves or other plant parts appeared. This clearly demonstrates that the tested neem based pesticides can safely be used for treating seeds of these crops except Achook.Keywords

There are many suggestive approaches for leadership but Fiedler model of leadership is significant which creates an impact on school environment and provides amicable surrounding for school staff. Student unrest is increasing in higher education institutions at alarming rate. Cases of unrest among students in universities like JNU, University of Hyderabad, Jadavpur University and others repeatedly remind us to improve students' support system for better intervention strategies. The incidence is a great cause of worry among academics and policy making institutions are striving hard to maintain and glorify the education of India. In purview of the existing scenario the present article suggest that efforts must be made for improving the psychological well beings of the students. The socio-emotional competencies of the students can be enhanced and balanced with dynamic alliance between teacher and students in the form of mentorship and among the students with team work.Keywords

The present study is an attempt to investigate the Job performance among women teachers in Higher education institutions. Purposive sampling technique was used for data collection. A sample of 110 women teachers working in Government and private degree colleges were selected for the study. Self-made questionnaire on Job performance scale was used to collect the data from teachers in higher education. The result of the study by using principal component analysis indicates that team spirit is the principal component that affects job performance of women teacher in higher education. Job security is also crucial in determining job performance of women teachers in higher education institutions in Haryana.Keywords

Dealing with various challenges in school along with academic performance requires socio-emotional skills for both teachers and students. The teacher plays a key role in practices the social and emotional learning among students in their classroom teaching learning process. The objective of this study is to find out the status of implementing social and emotional learning by school teachers. The researcher took a sample of 40 teachers randomly from Govt. and Private schools of Rewari, Haryana. An open ended questionnaire is used for collecting data. The findings of the study revealed that they only talks about SEL but they need some training and expertise in order to apply it practically in classrooms.Keywords

Leaders have got a significant role to play in all spheres of life. An organization can attain remarkable achievements under a strong leadership; whereas, the presence of unsuccessful leaders can prove to be quite detrimental. The notion that a vital part is played by emotional intelligence (EI) in the effectiveness of leaders has been introduced recently. An emotionally stable professional is able to cope up with imperfection and uncertainty, since he is not very critical and believes in win-win situation. He has the ability to handle every sort of situation whether it is a demanding job, an atrocious boss, or undisciplined subordinates. At present, the definition of leadership has become more people-focused. A person with good understanding of Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EIQ) is expected to be an excellent team person and thus an effective leader. This paper is aimed at unifying the literature that evaluates the possible connection between leadership effectiveness and EI. A survey in the college of Haryana is conducted based on Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue), which is psychometrically certified and provides self-awareness regarding EI. For the same, 50 teachers (leaders and non-leaders) were asked to fill the questionnaire. A SPSS analysis is carried out for evaluating the claims regarding significant relationship of EI with leadership, and to analyse the worth of EI in the success of professional and personal life of a leader. The impact of EI has been analysed on the perception, expression, and management of emotions, adaptability, relationships, stress management, self-motivation, happiness, empathy, and optimism. It is revealed through the results that a positive relationship exists between effective leadership and EI, which is beneficial for all the parties involved in the loop. Moreover, a noticeable difference has been observed in the EIQ rating of leaders and non-leaders in the way they utilize their EI in dealing with their personal matters or interacting with others.Keywords

Introduction: Congenital malformations of uterus occur due to abnormal formation, fusion or resorption of mullerian ducts during fetal life. A normal uterus is formed by fusion of two mullerian ducts which starts at 10th week and uterine development is completed by 20th week. If the two mullerian ducts fail to fuse it results in separate uterine horns also known as Bicornuate uterus.
Presentation of Case: We are presenting a case of 24 year old primigravida presented to us at 15th weeks of gestation who was having amenorrhoea for 3 months and 26 days along with gaseous distention of abdomen and lower abdomen pain for 6-7 days. She again underwent an abdominal ultrasonography at a different centre and it was suggestive of abdominal pregnancy. She underwent an abdominal ultrasonography again after 2 weeks of this where she was diagnosed as abdominal pregnancy with minimal as cites. To take further advice she presented to us the next day with both the reports. An assessment of ectopic pregnancy was made, she was counselled and consent for lapratomy was taken. At surgery a gravid bicornuate uterus with pregnancy in left cornua was found. Tubes and ovaries were normal. The conceptus ruptured the left uterine wall and the omentum was found adhered to the uterus. Omentum was ligated. The ruptured left horn was removed at its junction to right horn. Product of conceptus was taken out, pelvis was drained of blood and uterus and abdomen were closed in layers after achieving complete hemostasis.
Discussion: Our patient had ultrasonographic diagnosis of abdominal pregnancy at 15th week so an emergengency laparotomy was done to save patients life. On laparotomy bicornuate uterus with ruptured pregnancy in left horn was found. Blood, fluid replacement therapy and exploratory laparotomy followed by repair of uterus and drainage of pelvic blood was necessary to save patients life.
Conclusion: This case highlights the fact that a bicornuate uterine pregnancy can mimc an ectopic pregnancy and the two should be differentiated.

Consumer attitude is a combination of consumer belief systems, thoughts, and behavioral intent towards a brand. The shopping behavior of consumers today is greatly influenced by social media. Research suggests that there is an increasing reliance of consumers on social media to get information about unfamiliar brands. This study tries to understand how consumer attitude, when combined with social media, helps the customer make the final purchase decision. The present research was undertaken to determine the degree of social media’s effect on customer decision-making for fast-moving consumer products at various phases of the process. The stages included are information search, alternative evaluation and post purchase stages. SEM has been used to evaluate the theoretical model. The model supports a direct relationship between attitude and social media. Also, direct relationship was supported between attitude and different stages of decision making process. Furthermore, the relationship between attitude and information search, and attitude and post purchase behaviour was found to be significantly partially mediated by social media.Keywords

This research examines relationship between consumer personality traits comprising of extraversion, agreeableness, openness to experience, and conscientiousness and brand loyalty. Further, this relationship is tested by introducing a mediating variable namely Brand hate. Brand hate is the negative emotional effect of the consumer towards the brand. Convenience sampling was used to collect the primary data of the respondents. The study is carried out on a sample of 250 respondents. Theoretical model was tested through structural equation modelling using SPSS 24 and Amos 22. It is found that all personality traits variables studied have a direct relationship with brand loyalty. Mediation results indicate that brand hate fully mediates the relationship amongst extroversion-brand loyalty and conscientiousness-brand loyalty. Furthermore, partial mediation of brand hate exists between agreeableness-brand loyalty and openness to experience-brand loyalty. This research presents new perspectives for constructing a prudent model of consumer personality traits and brand loyalty by incorporating brand hate as the mediator. Findings, implications, and limitations are discussed towards the end of the paper.Keywords

Consumer demand for fashion apparel is at an all-time high, resulting in a paradigm change in consumer tastes. Social factors plays a very significant role in the purchase behaviour pattern in the clothing sector. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of social factors, including reference groups, social media, fashion involvement, and clothing benefits sought, on the purchasing decisions of working women. This research also intends to investigate the level of cognitive dissonance among the aforementioned users. The data was evaluated using structural equation modelling on a sample of 250 urban women. According to the findings of the study, social media, reference groups, and clothing benefits sought were significantly linked to purchasing decisions. There was no significant difference in purchasing decision for fashion involvement. Furthermore, buying decisions have a huge impact on customer cognitive dissonance. The results have implications for future studies, as well as retail stores.Keywords
