Entrepreneurial behaviour of a farmer is influenced by several factors. This study was conducted in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. A list of farmers who were practicing dairy and possessing minimum 5 dairy animals was prepared and 200 dairy farmers were selected by random sampling method. The majority 65.5 per cent respondents had medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour about dairy management practices. The entrepreneurial behaviour of respondents was found to have positive and significant relation with the factors i.e. education, dairy experience, land holding, livestock possession, occupation, annual income, material possession, extension contact, economic motivation, market orientation, scientific orientation, attitude of dairy farmers towards dairy farming and knowledge of improved dairy management practices. The co-efficient of determination (R2) was 0.977 which indicates that 97.00 per cent variation in the entrepreneurial behaviour by all the variables together. The major constraints expressed by dairy farmers were lack of veterinary facilities in the village (68.75%). The majority 67.50 per cent respondents said storing milk in summer season was very difficult and high cost of cross breed cow/buffalo was reported by 60.00 per cent respondents.Keywords

Entrepreneurial behaviour of a farmer is influenced by several factors. The study was conducted purposively in Ladpura block of Kota district to assess the entrepreneurial behaviour of coriander growers. The total of 120 coriander growers formed the sample for the study. The primary data were collected through personal interview method with the help of pre-tested interview schedule which was prepared on the basis of objectives of investigation and variables. The statistical tests and procedures were used for analyzing the data. With the help of statistical tools like-mean, S.D., percentage and Karl Pearson’s co-efficient of correlation, multiple correlation and regression analysis were used for analysis of data. It is found that majority of the respondents (55.00%) had medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour. All the 13 selected attributes of coriander growers, were found positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour except age, family size and mass media participation. The major constraints expressed by vegetable growers were fluctuations in the market price (78.33%).

The total of 200 vegetable growers were formed the sample for the study. The primary data were collected through personal interview method with the help of pre-tested interview schedule which was prepared on the basis of objectives of investigation and variables. The statistical tests and procedures were used for analyzing the data with the help of statistical tools like-mean, S.D., percentage and Karl Pearson’s co-efficient of correlation, multiple correlation and regression analysis were used for analysis of data. Majority of the respondents (61.00%) had medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour. All the 13 selected attributes of vegetable growers, were found positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour of vegetable growers except age, caste and mass media exposure. The major constraints expressed by vegetable growers were fluctuations in the market price (87.50%).

The entry of women into the workforce as paid labour has been a gradual process extending over several centuries with a substantive increase following industrialization and World War-II. Women constitute almost half of the work force amongst in India. Women face problems and challenges in getting a sustainable livelihood and a decent life due to environment degradation and the interference of outsiders. No field operation is beyond the reach of women. The study was conducted purposively in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. The sample size for the study was 120 farm women. Most of the farm women (48.33%) were frequently occurring in health hazards in operation of agricultural activities. Out of fourteen independent variables eleven variables were found having negative and significant relationship with health hazards and only age was found to have positive and significant relationship with health hazards while family background and size of family were not having significant relationship with health hazards. Majority (75.83%) farm women suggested that medical facilities should be available at village level.

Present investigation was confined in purposively selected Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. Respondents were selected by proportionate method of sampling. Thus, the total sample size was 198. Result depicted that out of the total 198 respondents, the higher percentage (49.49%) of the respondents found in middle age group; they had primary education and belong to OBC caste. The result also revealed that the gender category of the respondents, most of Panchayat leaders had male (70.71%), small size of holding (40.40%) and their main occupation was agriculture (63.13%). The majority of leaders had medium annual income (49.49%), medium material possession (58.08%), medium source of information (53.54%) and medium extension participation (63.13%). Majority 51.51 per cent respondents were performing their role in the medium categories followed by 26.76 per cent were in the low and only 21.71 per cent were performing their role in high category. Knowledge about Panchayat activities and attitude towards Panchayati Raj system were positively and highly significant association with role performance of the respondents.Keywords

The study was conducted in KVK Badwani, MP selected purposively. All respondents were selected from the KVK those have adopted FLD for the year 2016-17. A total number of 109 respondents were selected through a list of farmers obtain from the KVK, the FLD was adopted in the farmers field in different crop and season. The results of the study depicted that the majority of the respondents were found in various socio-economic profile characters like, age category of 37-51 years (61.45%), literate (53%), general caste (42.20%), joint families (85.32%), families size of 6-12 members (48.62%) and size of land holding medium farmers (64.22%). Agriculture was observed as main and subsidiary occupations with 93.58% and 19.27%, respectively. The maximum (56.88%) respondents had participation in one social organization, 66.97% respondents were found who had earning annual income of (Rs.70000-350000) and majority of respondents (77.99%) were observed in medium category (28-44) of overall materials possession. Mobile phone (100%), T.V. (94.50%) and radio (81.65%) were found as main communication media with the respondents. In information sources use pattern of respondents, the maximum contact was observed with Gram Pradhan (4.56%) under formal sources, friends (3.56%) and progressive farmers (1.66%) under informal and mobile (5.39%) under mass media exposure. The maximum number of respondents was found in high level of economic motivation, risk orientation with (38.53%), (46.79%) and maximum number of respondent was found in low level of scientific orientation (42.20%), respectively. The maximum number of respondents was found in medium level of overall knowledge about front-line demonstration with 70.64% and maximum number of respondents was found in medium.
