In today’s dynamic and information rich environment, information systems have become vital for any organization to survive. With the increase in the dependence of the organization on the information system, there exists an opportunity for the competitive organizations and disruptive forces to gain access to other organizations information system. This hostile environment makes information systems security issues critical to an organization. This paper describes the implementation of a Cryptographic Mail Composer, in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that is used to send the mail in encoded format. By using this encoding method the mail will be sent very safe, the preventing the hackers from reading the mail. The mailer is used to send the encrypted mail directly to the mail box as it is. It can also send the effective html page, images and textual mails. Instead of this, the composer will send the mail with the enclosures and not as attachment.

Scheduling workloads is a difficult task. In order to design efficient scheduling algorithms for dependent workloads, it is required to have a good in-depth knowledge of basic scheduling strategies and graph theory. This paper analyzes the distribution of sequential dependent tasks and the scheduling behavior in heterogeneous computational grid environments. In this paper, we also propose a new thread based algorithm for scheduling dependent tasks and optimize the algorithm using heuristic principles. Introducing Particle swarm based Thread parallel Scheduling; we have successfully demonstrated a new heuristic algorithm for scheduling of dependent tasks. Experiments prove the increased performance and efficiency after incorporation of the optimization techniques. Keywords

The need for Augmented and Advanced Human-Computer Interaction is to provide the user with the advantage of taking up no desk space as well as being wireless, accompanied by the advantage of being able to disappear when not in use. By means of designing a virtual keyboard, characters can be projected and touchedonto any white surface. A webcam attached with Personal Computer can witness the finger movements and translate the action into keystrokes in the device. Touching a key's image generates a unique electronic signal corresponding to the key's image that was touched. The ultimate aim of the paper is to bring in an open standard culture which should benefit the growth of Software industry by providing opportunities for people, especially for the upcoming graduates, who can share resources and collaborate by putting forth their innovative ideas. Keywords

The purpose of this paper is to develop a imageenhancement system for computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) of breast cancer using full digital mammography. The proposed system can be used to enhance the mammogram and detect tumors and other related problems. There are some new image rocessing methods to extract tumor masses and clustered micro calcifications have been developed and implemented in the CAD system. The aim is to delineate regions, each of which to a certain extent uniform in some appropriate measure. A new filter called Iris Filter has been developed to detect tumor candidates. It realizes reliable detection of tumor candidates regardless of their sizes and their contrast against their background on mammograms. Previous works suggests exhaustive search technique in which we have to apply the filter in each and every pixels of the image. In this research the search space will be reduced by approximately segmenting the potential tumor areas by using suitable threshold based segmenting operation and then applying the filter only in the segmented region. In this work, apart from Iris filter, various segmentation and edge detectionalgorithms are also under consideration. Since the data storage and speed of performance issues are critical in such kind of software design, they also will be taken in to account.

Several techniques have been developed for recompressing the JPEG image in order to achieve low bit rate and to maintain image quality. In this paper, we have modified the existing heuristic algorithm for requantizing JPEG images. The resulting images are generally smaller in size and have improved perceptual image quality over “heuristic” and “direct” (decompressing the JPEG image and then compressing it again with a larger step size)requantization approaches. We have compared the recompression results for standard benchmark images against image quality measures such as bits per pixel, compression ratio, image size and PSNR.

Background/Objectives: Foreign currency Exchange (FOREX) plays a vital role for currency trading in the international market. Accurate prediction of foreign currency exchange rate is a challenging task. The paper investigates the FOREX prediction using feed forward neural network. Methods/Statistical analysis: This paper employs artificial neural network to forecast foreign currency exchange rate in India during 2010-2015.The exchange rates considered between Indian Rupee and four major currencies Euro, Japanese Yen, Pound Sterling and US Dollar. The network developed consists of an input layer, hidden layer and output layer. The neural network was trained with Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) learning algorithm. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Forecasting Error (FE) are used as indicators for the performance of the networks. Findings: Simulation results are presented to show the performance of the proposed system. The paper also aims to suggest about network topology that must be chosen in order to fit time series kind of complicated data to a neural network model. The proposed technique gives the evidence that there is possibility of extracting information hidden in the foreign exchange rate and predicting into the future. Applications/Improvements: Finally, this paper presents the best network topology for FOREX prediction by comparing the effectiveness of various hidden layer performance algorithm using MATLAB neural network software as a tool. Keywords

Background/Objectives: Accurate prediction of stock market is highly challenging. This paper presents a forecasting model based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for predicting financial time series. Methods/Statistical analysis: The idea of forecasting stock market prices with discrete wavelet transform is the central element of this paper. The proposed forecasting model uses the Discrete Wavelet Transform to decompose the financial time series data. The obtained approximation and detail coefficients after decomposition of the original time series data are used as input variables of back propagation neural network to forecast future stock prices. Approximation coefficients can characterize the coarse structure of the data and detail coefficients capture ruptures, discontinuities and singularities in the original data, to recognize the long-term trends in the original data. Findings: The proposed model was applied to five datasets. For all of the datasets, accuracy measures showed that the presented model outperforms a conventional model. It also proved that the hybrid forecasting technique has achieved better results compared with the approach which is not using the wavelet transform. Applications/Improvements: The accuracy of the proposed hybrid method can also be improved by developing a model using artificial neural network with Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Interference System. Keywords

As grid is a heterogeneous environment, finding an optimal schedule for the job is always a complex task. In this paper, a hybridization technique using intelligent water drops and Ant colony optimization which are nature-inspired swarm intelligence approaches are used to find the best resource for the job. Intelligent water drops involves in finding out all matching resources for the job requirements and the routing information (optimal path) to reach those resources. Ant Colony optimization chooses the best resource among all matching resources for the job. The objective of this approach is to converge to the optimal schedule faster, minimize the make span of the job, improve load balancing of resources and efficient utilization of available resources. Keywords

Purpose - The aim of this paper is to optimize the capacitor value of a single phase open well submersible motor operating under extreme voltage conditions using fuzzy logic optimization technique and compared with no-load volt-ampere method. This is done by keeping the displacement angle (α) between main winding and auxiliary winding near 90°, phase angle (φ) between the supply voltage and line current near 0°. The optimization work is carried out by using Fuzzy Logic Toolbox software built on the MATLAB technical computing environment with Simulink software. Findings - The optimum capacitor value obtained is used with a motor and tested for different supply voltage conditions. The vector diagrams obtained from the experimental test results indicates that the performance is improved from the existing value. Originality/value - This method will be highly useful for the practicing design engineers in selecting the optimum capacitance value for single phase induction motors to achieve the best performance for operating at extreme supply voltage conditions. Keywords

Grid computing is a high performance computing used to solve larger scale computational demands. Task scheduling is a major issue in grid computing systems. Scheduling of tasks is the NP hard problem. The heuristic approach provides optimal solution for NP hard problems .The ant colony algorithm provides optimal solution. The existing ant colony algorithm takes more time to schedule the tasks. In this paper ant colony algorithm improved by enhancing pheromone updating rule such that it schedules the tasks efficiently and better resource utilization. The simulation results prove that proposed method reduces the execution time of tasks compared to existing ant colony algorithm. Keywords
