Emotional problems are considered as one of the major psychological tribulations experienced by children, adolescents and adults. Emotional problems were found to be predominant in school going adolescent students, contributing to serious learning, physical and mental health impairments. Indian studies have also reported that 10- 74% of schools going adolescents were found to suffer from emotional problems (John, 1980; Dhavale, 1994; Bhola&Kapur, 2003). It is very important to understand and find out the causal factors of emotional problems among school students which could help in preventing the emotional problems. Keeping this in mind, the present study made an attempt to identify the predictors of emotional problems among adolescent students. The main objectives of the study were (i) To find out the interrelationship among Emotional Problems, School Environment, Parental Attachment and Peer Attachment. (ii)To find out the predictors of Emotional Problems among adolescent school students (iii) To find out the influence of Demographic variables like Age, Gender, Socioeconomic Status, maternal Occupation, Parental Education, type of School, etc In order to fulfill these objectives, a sample of 300 adolescent students from class IX to XII were included for the study and their age ranged from 14 to 18 years. The tools used for the study were (i) Screening Tool for Emotional Problems (STEP) (Erford, 2007) (ii) Inventory of Parent&Peer Attachment (Armsden&Greenberg, 1987) (iii) School Environment Scale (Fend&prester, 1986). The data collected were analyzed using appropriate statistical analysis. The results were discussed in the light of previous research findings. Keywords

Positive psychological capacities in the workplace are an area on which considerable research has been done over the last few years. These capacities include self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience and are collectively referred to as 'psychological capital'. Due to the importance of the role of individual's attitude towards work and due to dearth of studies on the Psychological capital in India, the present study was undertaken to find out the influence of positive psychological capital and work attitude on the work performance of ITES employees. The sample consisted of 147 individuals from reputed a ITES company in Chennai city. Convenient sampling procedure was used to collect data. Pearson's correlation, student t-test and ANOVA were the statistics used to analyze the data. Keywords

Today, teams and organizations face rapid change ever before. Globalization has increased the markets and opportunities for more growth and revenue. However, increasingly diverse markets have a wide variety of needs and expectations that must be understood if they are to become strong customers and collaborators. Most organizations don't know how to prepare their employees to handle these changes effectively and thereby increase the organization effectiveness. The role of leaders plays an important role in bringing change initiatives in the organizations. The present paper aimed at explaining the importance of leadership effectiveness in bringing organizational change by exploring various theories and research studies. Keywords

The present study explored the role of job attitude in relation to perceived occupational stress, interrole conflict, and psychology wellbeing of women police. The study also examined the influence of demographic factors such as job experience, family structure, number of transfers, and number of dependents on all psychosocial variables studied. The sample was chosen from a sampling frame of 181 women constables, who satisfied the criteria of marital status. Data were obtained from a sample of 72 married women constables and head constables of the Chennai City police department. Data were analyzed by using correlation analysis and t-test. The sample was divided into two groups as low and high job attitude based on the mean scores in job attitude scale. Correlation analysis among the variables revealed that job attitude was negatively related to both occupational stress and interrole conflict. Moreover, job attitude was positively related to psychological well-being. Occupational stress was negatively related to psychological well-being of women police. It was found that interrole conflict did not significantly influence the occupational stress and psychological well being of women police. Moreover, those with more job experience perceived low occupational stress and better psychological well-being. Women police with more number of dependents perceived greater interrole conflict than those with lesser number of dependents. Further, the number of transfers and type of family did not influence job attitude, perceived occupational stress, interrole conilict, and psychological well-being of women police. The study had implications for further research in police force and in developing effective interventions to reduce occupational stress and to enhance psychological well-being of women police. Keywords

Police officers are charged with a unique task of serving and protecting the public. It is pertinent for police personnel to be physically and psychologically healthy to perform their duties effectively. However, their health and wellbeing is threatened by many factors. Hence, to understand the psychosocial factors influencing the psychological well-being of police personnel, the present study attempted to investigate the influence of occupational stress, resilience, and job satisfaction on the psychological well-being of policewomen in Chennai City. The study also examined the interrelationship among select psychosocial variables. The study adopted correlational research design using survey method. The sample comprised of 237 policewomen constables working in Armed Reserve police unit whose age ranged from 23-41 years, and job experience ranged from 3 to 14 years. The tools used for the study were Occupational Stress Inventory (OSI) by Karunanidhi and Chitra (2010), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) by Connor and Davidson (2003, overall job satisfaction scale by Brayfield and Rothe (1951), and Psychological General Well-being Index (PGWBI) by Dupuy (1984). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The correlation analysis among all psychosocial variables revealed that occupational stress was negatively and significantly related to resilience, job satisfaction and psychological well-being. Further, resilience was positively and significantly related to job satisfaction and psychological well-being of policewomen. Moreover, the relationship between job satisfaction and psychological well-being ofpoticewomen was found to be positive and significant. Multiple regression analysis revealed that out of eight variables chosen, four variables namely resilience, women related stress, hazards of occupation, and job satisfaction accounted for 50% of variance in the psychological well-being policewomen. Moreover, findings indicate the importance of being resilient to achieve higher psychological well-being, which has immense implications for training. The implication of the findings and future research suggestions are discussed. Keywords

Precision engineering involves not only manufacturing the components as per the design but also being able to measure and quantify them. This paper deals with the techniques and sequence of operations required for precision machining and metrological inspection of the components in the second- stage of a Hydraulic Spool Valve. The requirements of high accuracies in dimensions, form and surface quality are the prime requirements to meet the stringent valve specifications such as leakage, threshold, pressure gain, hysteresis, linearity etc. The sleeve and spool assembly of the spool valve forms the second stage of the valve. The sleeve is incorporated to meet higher flow requirements. It has many rectangular slots or flow openings. These slots are machined by Wire Cut Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) process. The spool has to be then machined to the dimensions obtained from the sleeve, in order to meet the required valve performance. This assembly has very critical clearance (between sleeve and spool), cylindricity and finish requirements. The paper presents the various precision machining techniques such as WEDM, cylindrical grinding, honing, and lapping used in achieving these requirements. These components have been assembled in the valve. The metrological and the valve performance results obtained have been given. Keywords

While considering the manufacturing of any components of aerospace industry it is very important to reduce the time associated with its production with minimum cost and high quality. The manufacturing of Electro Hydraulic Servo Valve (EHSV) considered for this work is a two stage electrically operated hydraulic valve, in which the output flow is proportional to the input current. Here investigated on both theoretical and practical aspects of using different processes involved in the production of EHSV. The material used for EHSV is SS 440 C. This investigation gave me a complete idea about the problems related to different machining operation cycles associated with the manufacturing of EHSV, especially the problems related to the wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). The main problems associated with WEDM increased time for manufacturing cylindrical bores and high costs associated with its production can only be eliminated by replacing the existing WEDM process with suitable process which is cost effective, time saving and produce components with better quality. For this purpose TiN coated carbide reamer is the best option to overcome the above mentioned problems for the manufacturing of cylindrical bores. Time study need to be performed on both existing operation cycle and proposed operation cycle in order to get the complete idea about the total time associated with the manufacturing of cylindrical bores in EHSV valve body. Keywords
