The present study aims to find organizational and personal predictors of effectiveness of newspaper reporters. It also aims to find out the relationships of role effectiveness with both organizational and personal variables under investigation. The organizational variables studied are organizational climate and organizational role stress, whereas the personal variables studied are biographical information and journalistic writing attitude. The results obtained depict significant relationships of role effectiveness with both organizational as well as personal variables. Further, the results also indicate that both organizational and personal variables studied significantly predict the role effectiveness of the newspaper reporters.Keywords

This study attempts to find out potent organizational level variable(s) affecting the knowledge management processes and also to design a framework to be used by the firms. Based on the extensive review of literature relating to the practice of knowledge management in enterprises, an integrative framework with practical orientation is presented. The learning at an organizational level is a necessary precondition for becoming a knowledge managing company but the discipline of organizational learning thrives under higher form of leadership practices in operation. The framework developed could be customized to the needs of a particular business entity. The research framework articulates leadership practices in conjunction with organizational learning impacting knowledge management in the enterprise.References

This study reveals that most of the insurance companies are very new and the HR departments are juvenile with recently established HR departments under improvement. Activities like recruitment, training&development, compensation, incentives, rewards&recognition have been undertaken more or less in the same manner with slight differences. The process of performance management has been found to be varying in terms of the procedures, the parameters being the same. The recommendations involve initiatives to improve consultant performance and recruitment quality by improving the testing methods, online training and material implementation, etc.References

Stress is an inevitable outcome of modern day complex life in organizations and needs to be experienced at an optimal level, which depends upon person's characteristics, for making life meaning-ful and productive. This does not happen most of the times in organizational lives as demands and expectations from inside and outside the organization keep on constantly changing. Researches across the globe have found the relevance of emotional intelligence of the employees which act as a moderator vis-à-vis perception of job stress. This paper is an attempt to meta-analyze available research findings and develop a framework to be used by the industry practitioners. The conceptual model based on research literature is assumed to fillin the gap and also to address the organizational concerns.References

The paper aims to discovering the organizational macro variables which make innovation to take place at workplace and to develop a conceptual model for use in the industry which has been grappling with financial downturn. The meta-analysis of the literature explicitly provides an insight in to the interplay of macro variables viz. organizational culture, organizational structure, organizational learning, and knowledge management architectures to have organizational innovation in full swing. The paper describes the impact of all these variables towards innovation at organizational level. A conceptual model of organizational innovation has been proposed, which may be utilized for creating suitable architectures to make innovation in organizations. The proposed model of organizational innovation needs to be empirically validated across cultures, however.References

A study was conducted to develop banana and kinnow based fruit beverage and its qualitative evaluation during storage. The TSS, acidity and optical density of banana and kinnow RTS beverage increased with increase in the level of banana juice ratio at different storage condition. The pH decreased with increase in the level of kinnow juice and pH values of the samples composition B70:K30, B60:K40 and B50:K50 after 90 days of storage were observed as 1.60, 1.41 and 1.20, respectively at refrigeration condition. The microbial growth increased during storage period irrespective of banana juice ratio at different storage condition. The ascorbic acid of the RTS samples was decreased during storage period. The minimum ascorbic acid of the sample of juice ratio of the fruits B70:K30, B60:K40 and B50:K50 after 90 days of storage were observed as 1.50, 2.00 and 2.60, respectively at refrigeration condition. The refrigeration storage method was found to be superior over other methods for storage of banana and kinnow based RTS beverage followed by BOD incubator and room temperature conditions.Keywords

Just five years ago, India had only 36 million telephones for more than 1000 million people. From 2000-01 to 2005-06, India added more than 100 million new telephone subscribers. Presently, Indian telecommunication network with around 140 million telephone connections is one of the largest and the fastest growing network in the world. As a consequence, teledensity number of telephones per 100 inhabitants in the country has improved considerably. It has increased by more than 3.5-fold in last five years, from 3.55 in 2000-01 to 12.66 in 2005-06. The Government of India aims to raise the teledensity in the country to more than 40 in next five years. Tliis study tries to verify whether teledensity in India could reach a level of around 40 by the year 2010-11. For this, we projected the future path of teledensity in the country using S-shaped logistic and Gompertz curve models. Annual data of teledensity from 1990-91 to 2005-06 have been used for the same. It is found that the teledensity in the cou n try is likely to cross the mark of 40 in 2010-11.Keywords
