This study explored the impact of social networks on compensation level of managers as well CEOs. Our arguments are based on Vroom expectancy theory and Adam's equity theory. Social network with key personalities (political leaders, actors, cricketers etc.) adds to the prestige and power of the CEOs. Based on segmented labor market (SLM) theory, authors argue that wage differentials across the industries exist due to labor immobility. The paper explored factors contributing to labor immobility which include institutional factors (managerial rule, government and laws, etc.), union membership, and skill level. Western research has validated the attractiveness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the prospective employees while making a job choice. The phenomenon has been rarely explored in the Indian context. Interviews were taken from graduating Master of Business Administration (MBA) students from a top business school in the country. The interviews explored the importance of CSR for the prospective employees while making a job choice. The inquiry further extended to uncover the importance of CSR for brand image and other attractive features of an organization. It was found that CSR is not more than a hygiene factor for the prospective employees, which is in contrast to the Western context.- Justice Theory & Intention to Quit : The Case of IT/ITES & BFSI Employees

The debate of fair treatment and justice originates from the notion of social justice. Even though fair treatment may be implemented in the organizations, the employees may perceive that they are not being treated fairly by their employers. This paper analyzes the impact of perceptions of distributive and procedural justice on intention to quit among employees from IT/ITES and BFSI sector. Primary data was collected from 401 employees by using a mailed questionnaire for data collection. The results indicate that both procedural and distributive justice have significant effect on employee's intention to quit.- The Essence of Downsizing:A Review of Literature

The process of downsizing has often been considered as a onetime activity that is disconnected from the processes and the outcomes associated with the activity. Since the strategies, organizational, industrial and environmental characteristics play a crucial role in determining the success and/or failure of the downsizing process, a piece-meal approach to the research on downsizing is not enough. This paper thus presents a holistic view of the downsizing process where the dynamics that ensue during the downsizing are elucidated in a framework. The purpose of this article is to explore how spirituality is perceived by the managers in India.Thus, attributes of spiritual individuals and its impact at workplace are also explored. Qualitative thematic analysisof thirty in depth interviews was done to generate the unique Indian perspective on workplace spirituality. The participants in the interview process were full time managers of various Indian organizations holding positions like Vice President HR, Senior Manager HR etc. The major findings of the qualitative interviews were that workplace spirituality is a belief in sacred power which guides towards the ethical path. It helps in nurturing a positive, peaceful and compassionate environment at workplace .References
