Objectives: The performance of parallel input and series output configured interleaved high gain DC converter using MPPT algorithm is analyzed. Methods: The output power of PV varies due to change in temperature and irradiation levels. This reduces the conversion efficiency. Hence, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is used to achieve maximum power from PV panel with suitable duty ratio and also improves efficiency. The simulations are carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK to validate the operation and effectiveness of the converter using MPPT algorithm. Results: The transformer-less two phase interleaved converter not only produces high output voltage but also reduces voltage stress of active switches. The simulation results for the converter using P&O algorithm is presented in this paper. The various parameters such as output current, output voltage and output power of the transformer-less two phase interleaved DC converter were compared with and without MPPT. Conclusion and Application: The converter with MPPT produces an output of 248.2 W which is 1.1 times that of converter without MPPT. Thus, the two phase’s interleaved DC converter with MPPT shows better performance and can be used for standalone applications.Keywords

This paper presents the modeling and simulation of closed loop controlled Half Bridge Series Resonant Power Factor Correction (PFC) DC – DC converter with high frequency transformer isolation using Matlab Simulink. Half bridge converters are well suitable for low input voltage and high current applications. High power density and high efficiency are the major driving force for this application. The operation at higher frequencies considerably reduces the size of passive components, such as transformers and filters, however switching losses have been an obstacle for high frequency operation. To reduce switching losses and allow high frequency operation, resonant techniques have been developed. This technique reduces distortion and results in almost sinusoidal output. The switching processes are softly commutated. Therefore the switching losses and noises are reduced. The open loop and closed loop models for DC – DC Half Bridge Series Resonant PFC converter have been developed and the MATLAB simulation results are presented.

This paper presents the design of Synchronous Reference Frame theory (SRF) based on time domain reference signal elimination technique that can extract reference compensated current for 3ф shunt active power filter. A three-phase Voltage Source Converter (VSC) of this system eliminates harmonics current, balances loads and compensates reactive power for power for Power Factor Correction (PFC) or Zero Voltage Regulation (ZVR) at AC main. Fuzzy controller regulates the DC bus voltage at the time of load variation, also provides accurate reference current extraction, frequency independent operation and relatively fast transient response. Hysteresis current controller has current limiting capacity to limit the current error within fixed tolerance band. The grid interfaced solar PV power generating system is tested for PFC and ZVR mode of operation along with harmonics current elimination and load balancing of linear and non-linear loads. Simulation results are presented for the fundamental frequency of 50 Hz.Keywords
