Abstract

Injuries sustained due to railway mishaps are well documented. In these mishaps, ascertaining the cause of death is usually not difficult, but frequently circumstances do raise questions as to the manner of death.

Decapitation or complete severance of head from the body is imminently fatal condition without any exception. A case of decapitation in a railway accident is discussed. It stresses on the fact that there is an increasing number of such cases and there is always a question whether the death was a homicide or suicide or an accident. The combination of death scene findings and autopsy results will in most cases distinguish between homicidal and other modes of death.

Abstract

Background: Traffic management is an important tool of Intelligent Transportation System. The design of system for controlling the urban traffic dynamically provides not only the safety for pedestrians and motorists, but also saves the time and money. Method: In this paper, we describe a novel approach to manage the traffic light after measuring the accurate density with image mosaicking technique. Findings: This approach of measuring traffic density eliminates the use of conventional sensors which are sensitive to environmental changes. Even a single camera is not capable of measuring density accurately as gap between vehicles is important consideration. A single camera projection cannot capture the entire area between vehicles. So in this approach multiple cameras have been used to improve the accuracy of traffic measurement. The image mosaicking algorithm has been applied to measure one of the macro traffic flow parameter such as traffic density. The efficacy of proposed method has been evaluated, using MATLAB, AimSun and LabVIEW Software. Improvements: The result of extensive simulation indicates that this approach provides better performance in terms of increase the average moving time and decreases the average waiting time for traffic.

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted on loamy sand soil during Rabi season of 2009-10 to study the effect of verimcompost and phosphorus on nutrient content, uptake and quality in fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graceum L.). Application of 4.0 t vermicompost significantly increased the nitrogen content in seed, protein content, nitrogen uptake in seed and straw. While application of 6.0 t vermicompost ha^-1 significantly increased the phosphorus content in seed, straw, phenol content, total nitrogen uptake, phosphorus uptake in seed, straw and total. Application of 2.0 t vermicompost ha^-1 significantly increased the nitrogen content in seed, straw. Application of 40 kg phosphorus ha^-1 significantly increased the nitrogen content in seed, straw, phosphorus content in straw, protein content in seed, nitrogen uptake in seed, straw, total and phosphorus uptake in straw. Application of 60 kg phosphorus ha^-1 significantly increased the phosphorus content in seed, phenol content, phosphorus uptake in seed and total.

Abstract

Fault analysis in analog circuit is matter of research since last few decades because of the complexity in diagnosis of fault models. This paper proposes fault diagnosis approach for analog circuit using hybrid evolutionary techniques and neural network. Neural network is used because of its good robustness and adaptability and genetic algorithm is used as evolutionary technique for optimization and learning of neural network. The proposed method is validated through state variable filter circuit and all possible parametric variations are taken for faulty and non-faulty condition and experimental results are presented to show that hybrid scheme is more efficient than neural network method.
