Abstract
Large scale bamboo plantations necessitate sufficient ready stock of vegetative planting material. This is the only and customary method of propagation, because the bamboos do not flower and fruit with any frequent regularity. Researches were, accordingly undertaken to develop propagation methods by cuttings and layerings which should simultaneously be easy to raise, economic to adopt and convenient to transport.
