Intraspecific competition was found to affect the predation of assassin bug, Irantha armipes (Stal) on cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) and quickened predatory acts such as capturing, paralyzing and sucking with reduction in the number of piercing and sucking sites. The impact of competition on predation increased in proportion to the number of competitors confronted.
