Abstract

Life table data were calculated for Goniozus sensorius Gordh on Dinphania indica (Saunders). The ovipositing female survived for a mean period of 8 days and produced a mean progeny of 7.51 Individuals each day with a sex-ratio of 1:4.1 (M:F). The Intrinsic rate of increase (r_m) was 0.185 per female per day. The net reproductive rate (R_o)was 21.93 and net generation time (T) 16.70 days.

Abstract

A three year study on the influence of abiotic factors on the occurrence of major parasitolds associated with the pumpkin caterplllar, Diaphania indica (Saunders) revealed that Apanteles taragamae Vler.and Goniozus sensorius Gordh were active during the cooler months of the year (October-April) indicating that temperature had a negative influence on their occurrence. The activity of Apantele s macbaeralls Wilkinson was maximum from April to August and its occurrence was positively influenced by temperature.
