Thespesia populnea is a variety of small tree found mostly in the tropical regions of the world belonging to the family of Malvaceae. According to ancient and traditional medicine such as Ayurveda this plant is used to treat various diseases such as bloody diarrhea, fracture healing, urinary tract problem, abdomen swelling, pleurisy, skin disorders, high fever and menstrual issues. This study focuses on the evaluation of antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of synthesized silver nanoparticles from aqueous leaf extract of Thespesia populnea plant. Reducing capability of synthesized nanoparticles was examined by carrying out various antioxidant assays such as reduction of DPPH substrate through radical scavenging. It showed the maximum reduction of DPPH as 92.77% at 120 &#956g/mL concentration. At 120 &#956g/mL concentration, phosphomolybdenum showed highest contraction percentage ranging 51.47 % and followed by Fe3+ reduction at 28.78 %. Studies on antimicrobial activity has revealed that the maximum zone of inhibition was exhibited by Proteus vulgaris with distinct zone formation up to 19 mm diameter.
