Peripheral Nerve Stimulator(PNS)

Peripheral nerve stimulators are used for monitoring neuro-muscular blockade after administration of muscle relaxant during various stages of anaesthesia.Different stimulation modalities were introduced into practice to take advantage of the characteristic features of non depolarizing neuro muscular blockade such as fade, post titanic facilitation. Increase in awareness of the problems of post-operative residual neuromuscular blockade in recent years has increased its use .
