Abstract

A compact (in fact, nuclear) operator is constructed which is compatible with a given chain of closed subspaces of a separable Banach space, in the strong sense that it takes each of the subspaces onto a dense subspace of itself, and is injective modulo that subspace.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show that simple unital C* algebras arising as inductive limits of sequences of finite direct sums of matrix algebras over C(T) are classified by K-theoretical and tracial data. This unifies earlier results, in the case that the tracial data are redundant, and in the case that the K1-group is zero ([51, [6]). Let us recall these earlier results.
