The 10 BILLION is an eye-opening view of the challenges we face today: from overpopulation to melting icebergs to the global energy crises to civil wars to current ineffective political leaders, presented in a power point style. Professor Stephen J Emmott, the author of the 10 BILLION, is the head of computational science at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK, where he has worked since 2004. 10 BILLION gives a different angle to the current state of the problems faced by human beings. The dark side of the human development activities is presented in an eye-catching info-graphical way. The book has been divided into four sections. First is how do we get here? Second is what is happening right now-today-with this highly interconnected system that we rely upon? Third is a planet of ten billion and our options, and last is where does this leave us?
