IT Strategic and Operational Controls

The last few decades have witnessed a major shift in the role of Information Technology (IT) within organizations. Unlike a couple of decades back when IT was treated as a facilitator in the background, today it has become mainstream with more organizational strategies being developed around IT. This results in a critical dependency of the entire organization, from operational to strategic level and across all functional areas, on IT. Moreover, Information System (IS) development and deployment involve huge investments in terms of time, money and manpower. Apart from organization wide inclusive approach and change management, this also entails development of an entire IT Organization with a large number of controls.
