This book takes the reader into a journey of visualizing a serious thought since it vivaciously reflects a narrative self-dialogue by authors to overcome the predicament of two intricate yet entwined aspect of the term ‘human resources’. One being management and the other being development. The critical viewpoints raised by the authors in support of Human Resource Development (HRD) as a separate discipline in the contemporary times have been supported by the naïve challenges and the empirical studies that revolve around such issues. With this understanding, the authors have emphasized to elaborate as to why the subaltern HRD themes need to dislodge itself from the shackles of the overarching field of Human Resources Management. Also, as to what role it can play in shaping the wealth of the nations apart from providing valuable insights to the HR practitioners. The authors have also tried to minimize the gap between theory and research in between the chapters by filling such voids in an experiential learning manner. From an evaluation perspective, the inclusion of this dexterity makes it worthwhile for both students and researchers and in fact is the unique selling proposition of this critical text.
