Business is unusual nowadays. Media is flooding us with sour bad economy news everyday. Sense of urgency to save business is the trend setting in. Urgency sets in every phase of life. Right from a student to the CEO of a company, a sense of urgency acts as a trigger to enhance productivity. For a student, boost in productivity sets in a few days before examination. For a CEO, sense of urgency creates business turnarounds (Lou Gerstner rescued IBM from the edge of oblivion. The company was loosing billions and by March 1993, it had just 100 days left before cash ran out. Sense of urgency made Gerstner to axe the plan, to recognize that IBM’s vertical integration of hardware, software and services was its greatest strength. Gerstner’s turnaround of IBM is the single greatest in modern business history). Urgency has its role in every facet of life and in every creature of this earth.
