Information and communications technologies (ICTs) are playing an increasingly vital role in the daily lives of people, revolutionizing work and leisure and changing the rules of doing business. In the realm of government, the ICT application of E-Governance is a powerful tool for bringing about change to government processes in the developing world. E-governance operates at the cross roads between Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and government processes, and can be divided into three overlapping domains: e-administration, e-services and e-society. In order to be successful, e-governance must be firmly embedded in the existing government processes, must be supported, both politically and technically, by the governments, and must provide users with reasons to use these on-line domains. In order to maximize the impact, process change needs to be considered part and parcel of e-governance. E-Governance applications in the recent past have demonstrated the important role the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play in the realm of rural development. Several e-Governance projects have attempted to improve the reach, enhance the base, minimize the processing costs, increase transparency, and reduce the cycle times. This paper presents a brief review of the technologies of egovernance, its applications and the issues associated with rural e-Governance.Keywords

Information technology is an amalgam of some wonderful inventions of the 21st century in electronics and communication. During a very short span of time it has acquired an important place in almost all aspects of human life. But in the same context, the era of crimes with physical theft, dacoits, robbery, murder is changing day-by-day with the so called recent rapid developments of information technology. The criminal ideology is traveling in electronic, electromagnetic and visual form from one end of the world to the other end and all existing laws are becoming less effective. Any criminal activity that uses a computer either as an instrument, target or a means for perpetuating further crimes comes within the ambit of Cyber crime. A generalized definition of Cyber crime may be unlawful acts, wherein the computer is either a tool or target or both. This paper discusses Cyber crimes and suggests solutions to avoid the crimes occurring due to misuse of technology. Keywords
