The present study guides library professionals who have not yet automated their library. After familiarizing themselves with some techniques, they should be able to start the strategies outlined in the article for retro conversion. It discusses the practical issues involved in retro conversion work like, methodologies and steps involved in each method. The solution presented here can be used as an effective tool for successful completion of library retrospective conversion.Keywords

The growth of research activity in IIT Bombay in terms of PhD theses is analyzed for the period of 1958-2015 using data from Annual Reports, Library Catalogue, Electronic Theses and Dissertations of IIT Bombay. Data related to 4, 268 PhDs awarded during the period have been analyzed to identify active departments, supervisors, research collaboration, and topics based on high frequency keywords; Keyword visualization map is generated using VosViewer software. The study is intended to provide useful information to policy makers and funding agencies.Keywords

This paper reviews innovation activity at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and analyzes 717 Patents filed by it during the period of 1997-2015 as indexed in the Derwent World Patents Index. Data analysis is done to understand growth rate, productivity, collaboration of inventors with individuals, industries and institutions, class/subject-wise distribution of patents. Study also does a visualization of patent title keywords.Keywords

This study examines the implementation status of institutional repositories (IRs) in Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) laboratories. It assesses the level at which CSIR laboratories have updated their publications in IRs to facilitate open access to scholarly publications. The paper discusses the challenges faced by CSIR IRs in maintaining open access and updating content regularly. It identifies publications indexed in the WoS database and also discusses the open access initiatives at CSIR labs. The study suggests an effective strategy for successfully implementing IRs and covering the entire set of publications of CSIR laboratories.Keywords
