The rapid developments of doctoral research in India in recent times, necessitates the introspection of research contributions for development of the discipline. The subject analysis reveals that the doctoral programmes are oriented towards practice. The lopsided development results in the stagnation of theoretical base of the discipline. Suggests for concentration on theoretical endeavour to expand the body of knowledge of the discipline. Keywords
