Syntactic Analysis of Kimbeere Relative Clauses

This paper looks at the syntax of relative clauses in Kimbere, an SVO Bantu Language spoken in Kenya. From the evidence of interpretation of bound pronouns, raising with idiomatic expressions, and sectional restrictions between demonstratives and relatives clauses, it is concluded that Kimbeere relative clauses can be easily analyzed within Kayne’s Head raising analysis of Relative Clauses.
