This paper addresses the prospects of Medical Tourism as a 'cost effective' private medical care in collaboration with the tourism industry for patients needing surgical and other forms of specialized treatment. The progression is being facilitated by the corporate sector involved in medical care as well as the tourism industry. There is also a constant effort taken up by the corporate hospitals to support medical tourism with its fullest potential. Primitively there is also a enormous need for quality assurance and standardization norms for the hospital administration which is in fact, the need of the hour. Lack of an effective administration practices in the hospital and hospitality sector necessitates the need for a Total quality management approach in Healthcare Sector. Application of quality control systems is a vital aspect that hospitals in South India cannot disregard. It would lead the South to a new road map in ensuring quality and enhancing on customer satisfaction.
