In nursing clinical education, nursing educators evaluate students to assess their progress toward achieving clinical learning objectives. Clinical evaluation has always been a challenge for all, especially students as they are being evaluated. This descriptive qualitative study was aimed to explore the perspective of nursing students towards the role of clinical educators as evaluators. The study was conducted at the Nursing and Midwifery Schools of three Universities of Medical Sciences (Tehran, Iran). A purposive sampling method generated the sample for six semistructured focus group interviews. Four themes emerged through content analysis including Professional issues, Emotional environment, Basis for evaluation, and Timing of evaluation. The findings showed that, the students believed there are certain characteristics of clinical educators that influence their education. This information may help educators to become better evaluators in clinical education.
