The fruit of Borassus flabellifer Linn. belonging to family Areaceae reported to be posses the antioxidant activity. The extracts have been also evaluated for antioxidant activity by using in-vitro methods DPPH (2, 2-Diphenyl-1 picryl hydrazyl) and ABTS (2, 2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzo-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) assay. The phytochemical analysis carried out revealed the presence of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, carbohydrates, amino acids and phenolic compounds in the extracts.
