Analytical Methods Validation for Estimation of Squalene from the Rajgeera Seed (Amaranth paniculata)

Rajgeera seed (Amaranth paniculata) is now researched as rich source of squalene, earlier source reported was shark liver oil. Squalene was obtained by extraction with SFE and conventional techniques. The Squalene was estimated in the extracted oil using various techniques like UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Iodometric titration, Fourier transform Infra-red spectrophotometer and Gas chromatography. All the analytical techniques were validated by establishing calibrated graph. Out of all these gas chromatography was found to be fast, accurate and reproducible for the estimation of squalene.
