RP-HPLC Determination of Amlodipine from Tablet Dosage Forms

A simple, specific, accurate and precise high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the determination of Amlodipine in Amlodipine besylate tablet dosage forms. A Hypersil BDS C8 5 μm (250×4.6 mm I.D) with column temperature 25°C in isocratic mode, with mobile phase containing Acetonitrile:10 mM KH2PO4 buffer pH 3.0 (35:65) was used. The flow rate was 1.5 mL/min and effluent was monitored at 237 nm. The retention time of Amlodipine was 6.5 min. The linearity for Amlodipine was in the range 0.02 mg/mL to 0.12 mg/mL. The proposed method is accurate, precise, specific and rapid estimation of Amlodipine in Amlodipine besilate tablets.
