A new series of thiazolidinedione derivatives were synthesized by reacting under microwave irradiation. The structures of these compounds were established by means of IR, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. All the compounds (B1-B9) were screened for antidiabetic activity on albino rats. Most of these compounds have shown significant antidiabetic activity when compared with the standard drug glibenclamide.

Abstract

A new series of thiazolidinedione derivatives were synthesized by reacting under microwave irradiation. The structures of these compounds were established by means of IR, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. All the compounds (B1-B9) were screened for antidiabetic activity on albino rats. Most of these compounds have shown significant antidiabetic activity when compared with the standard drug glibenclamide.
