Plant Saponins –A Recent Update

Saponins are plant glycosides that acquire their name from their soap-like action. Saponin occur naturally in fruits, ischolar_mains, rhizomes, leaf, bark etc. and have historically been used in traditional system of medicine. Saponins are the utmost essential secondary metabolites from pharmaceutical and industrial point of view. This review is based on the recent phytopharmacological studies of saponins from year 2012 to 2013 which highlight the developments on saponins with their pharmacological activity.
