Skill development has been considered as the backbone of economic development. Entrepreneurship, skill development and new venture creation has long been a driving force in commercializing new technologies and developing new markets, creating new jobs, and growing economies . It has been well established that the level of economic growth of a region, to a large extent, depends on the level of entrepreneurial and skill development activities in the region. Government of India has launched National Skill Development Mission and National Skill Development Policy. The national policy on skill development envisages to creating opportunities for all to acquire skills throughout life and specially for youth, women and disadvantaged group, promoting commitment by all stakeholders to own skill development initiatives, developing a high quality skilled workforce, entrepreneurs relevant to emerging employment market needs. The policy has widened the scope of skill training and entrepreneurship development through utilizing the existing educational infrastructure and expansion of institutions engaged in skill training and vocational education. Government of India has also introduced several schemes, programmes and projects for providing training, vocational education and entrepreneurship development to youth, women and disadvantaged groups. In view of the high national priority, several state governments have also introduced state Policy for Skill development and established State Skill Development Mission with vision and strategic plan. Against this view point, present paper purports to review the policy and gender perspective of skill development and its leverage to make in India.Keywords

The Indian banking sector through years has transformed from Traditional Banking to New-Age banking. Technological revolution in the form of innovation and exnovation - along with a prudential banking norms and reforms - have changed the whole gamut of Indian banking sector particularly since liberalization; Heavy dependence on information technology and intensified competition influenced all the aspects of banking activity. With plethora of products being offered by banks, product knowledge as well as skill sets required to use technology enabled products and services need to be improved amongst the banking staff and the customers. But there exists a gap between the expectation and the reach of the technology enabled products and services.
Further, the demographic transition in India is expected to throw up new challenges for the Gen-Next banking. Banks have to understand the changing needs of customers, their aspirations and expectations to create values for their sustenance. Thus, in the light of the present banking scenario, the paper makes an attempt to explore the awareness and acceptance level of retail customers, about the technology enabled products and services offered by the private sector banks to its retail customers. It also highlights the nexus between the preferred mode of banking and usage rate of technology enabled services. The other key variables like ease of use, convenience, accessibility, risk, technical failure, fraud, and internet connectivity are analysed to understand the benefits conferred as well as the hindrances in adoption.

The usage of plastic bags has both convenience and inconvenience in our daily life. They cause environmental hazards as most plastic bags are not bio-degradable. Hygiene and wastage issue are also being alarmed as plastic bags can be seen littered all across the town. Usage of plastic bags for hot edible items not only causes such inconveniences but it may also cause health hazards to the consumer. Stakeholders such as the consumers play a pivotal role in the environmental and health consciousness. Therefore, this study is being conducted in order to understand the consumer perception of Eco impact and Ban of plastic bags. So that recommendations can be made to raise public awareness and minimize the usage of plastic bags ultimately. Consumers' perceptions and usage behaviors in connection with respective government's policies and implementation of recycling systems could be highly decisive in reducing the eco-impact of plastic shopping bags. The results reveal that mere knowledge does not help until measures are taken at policy level for its usage implementing strict measures to drive behavioral practices.Keywords
