Assessing Nutrition and Forecasting New Type of Vulnerabilities in Jharkhand using National Family Health Survey- 4

National level study doesn’t depict the picture at disaggregated level, i.e., at State and district level. This study focuses on finding the determinants for health deprivation among children in Jharkhand using NFHS-4. We try to find the discrimination between male/female child, urban/rural and tribe/non-tribe using z-distribution. We then employ the logit model. The outcome variables are stunting and underweight in children under the age of 5 and of age 6 to 9. We find out role of various geographic (like tribal district and distance of health institution like IHDS), mother’s education, family’s wealth has significant impact in reducing the malnutrition among children.
