Parturient with Severe Kyphoscoliosis: An Anaesthetic Challenge
Kyphoscoliosis is forward and lateral bending of spine. About 80% of the cases are idiopathic in nature. Secondary kyphoscoliosis occurs as a result of various neuromuscular, vertebral or connective tissue disorders1. These patients are likely to present with pulmonary or cardiac compromise.
