Foresight Gives Eyesight...Amniotic Membrane Transplantation for Steven Johnson Syndrome-Anaesthetic Management
Steven Johnson syndrome is an acute, self-limited, immune complex mediated hypersensitivity reaction precipitated by drugs, infections and food. This rare case of SJS secondary to ibuprofen consumption was posted for amniotic membrane graft to reduce visual impairment. With ongoing life-threatening drug reaction to safeguarding the patient’s vision, it poses a great challenge to the anaesthetist.
