Anaesthetic Management of Caesarean Section for a Patient with Severe Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura with very Low Platelet Count
Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) most common cause of significant thrombocytopenia in the pregnancy. But most of the cases have the platelet count above 20,000/μL. Wajekar AS described anaesthesia for LSCS with ITP having platelet count of 14,000/μL. We could not find any cases with platelet count of less than 10,000/μL. We report a case of successful management of anaesthesia for LSCS for a patient of ITP with platelet count of 7000/μL.
