Celiac Plexus Block for Challenges in Pain Management for Pancreatic Cancer
Pain is the most common symptom of the advanced malignancy. Severity of pain increases with the progression of disease. As pancreatic cancer enters final stages, pain becomes excruciating and patient starts preferring the ultimate reality “Death” instead of suffering. All though opioids are the best available analgesic, their efficacy comes down due to tolerance. Side effects become more due to increased requirement. Neurolytic celiac plexus block is a simple and effective treatments for relief of intractable intra-abdominal pain due to malignancy.
