Foreign body aspiration is a leading cause of death in children 1–3 years old.Procedures like rigid bronchoscopy involving manipulations of the pharynx & larynxcarry increased risk of perioperative laryngospasm.  Laryngospasm is an anesthetic emergency that is still responsible for significant morbidity and mortality in pediatric patients.  Prevention, early diagnosis and treatment is the key to successful management of such cases.
