A Comparative Study of Intrathecal Bupivacaine and Bupivacaine with Dexmedetomidine (5 Micrograms) for Major Lower Limb and Lower Abdominal Surgeries; A Randomized Controlled Study
In the present-day practice of Anesthesiology, bupivacaine is the most commonly used drug for spinal anesthesia. To improve upon the quality of analgesia and prolong the duration of its action, many adjuvants have been tried. This study is designed to evaluate the effect of 5µg of dexmedetomidine added to 0.5% hyperbaric spinal bupivacaine in patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries.
