A Clinical Comparative Study of Intrathecal 0.5% Hyperbaric Bupivacaine in Combination with 50 μg and 75 μg of Clonidine in Lower Abdominal Surgeries under Spinal Anaesthesia --- A Randomized Control Study
Spinal anaesthesia is a safe, reliable technique providing surgical anaesthesia.. Limited duration of action appears to be one of its downsides. Clonidine as intrathecal adjuvant has been shown to be effective and safe, [1] prolongs the duration of local anaesthetic action and reduces the dose of drug.[2] This study was conducted to compare intrathecal 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine in combination with 50 µg and 75 µg of clonidine in lower abdominal surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.
