Combined Use of Video Laryngoscope and Flexible Fiberscope in Patients with Simulated Difficult Airway: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Even though video-laryngoscopes provide better laryngeal view, airway adjunct like stylet or bougie are usually needed for intubation especially in difficult airway scenarios. However these cannot be actively positioned leading to failures. The combined use of flexible fiberscope with video laryngoscope helps circumvent this problem as it can be actively positioned. This study aims to determine whether combining a video laryngoscope with a flexible-fiberscope increases ease of successful tracheal intubation in simulated difficult airway.
