A Randomised Clinical Trial to Compare the Ease of Ultra Sound Guided Radial Artery Cannulation-Short Axis Versus Long Axis, with Traditional Palpation Method in Adult Patients
Securing an arterial line and measurement of invasive blood pressure has become an essential monitoring modality in major surgeries. Traditionally radial artery cannulation was achieved by palpation. Recently ultra sound has been used for easy and effective radial artery cannulation. In this study, three different methods of radial artery cannulation have been compared namely palpation, ultra sound guided short axis and ultra sound guided long axis method.
