Representation of Physical Processes in Weather and Climate Models
The improvement of numerical models for predicting weather and climate at different spatial and temporal scales is being carried out globally. While much progress has been achieved, there are still significant challenges, particularly in the backdrop of enhanced extreme weather events, which need to be addressed with better understanding of physical processes, based on observations and subsequent representation of these processes through improved parameterization.
