This paper takes continuous and yearly cropping wheat-corn of wide ridge and furrow irrigation as experimental object, observing the process of water flow advance and recession of the furrow irrigation, and the change of soil moisture before and after irrigation. This paper researches the effects on characteristics of the flow and quality of the irrigation about three technical elements-the width and depth of furrow irrigation and the gradient of the field. The results show that the speed of water flow advance decreases as with the wide of furrow increasing, and the speed of water flow advance increases in the wake of the deep of ditch and surface slope increasing. The power function can fit the process of water flow advance well, and the correlation is higher. Although the process of water flow recession is still in line with a power function, data discrete degree is high, and the correlation is not as good as the process of water flow advance. The quality of irrigation is strongly influenced by three furrow irrigation technical elements, but there still exists an optimal combination among all irrigation technical elements. The research results can provide technical reference for improving the methods of surface furrow irrigation.
