A Survey on 3D Printing Technologies and Ecology in 3D Printing
Subscribe/Renew Journal
3D printing, an open source additive manufacturing technology, has fueled the way the products are manufactured. It is a rapid prototyping technique with which new products can be developed and manufactured. With the advancement in 3D printing technologies it is feasible to develop from prototype models to real objects like car, bi-cycle, etc. quickly and economically. 3D printing is likely to find its applications in fields such as medicine where tissues can be developed for organ replacement. This paper presents a brief survey on various technologies in 3D printing. It also discusses the environmental impact of 3D printers and about how the materials used in 3D printing process are not harmful to the society.
