Premature infants are a leading cause of infant morbidity and mortality over the world. An infant incubator plays major role in preventing the heat loss and dehydration that often occurring in premature babies. About 4 million infants die every year in the developing world due to prematurity complications. These deaths can be prevented by an incubator but the problem is lack of low cost incubator in the developing world. Incubator works on continuous electricity and is worthless in regions where there is no power supply. The proposed system of the project is the Phase Changing Material, used as a prospective non electric heating element. The design has the broad usage in any geographical context where the primary concerns are portability, energy and cost. This can replace the use of electric incubator and also can reduce the expenses that may be produced by the old method. Solar panel is used to give continuous power supply and it is easy way to handle. The incubator works on PCM-paraffin wax material that can maintain a constant temperature of 36°C inside the incubator case.
