A Review of Face Recognition Techniques

Face Recognition is a computer application for automatically identifying a person from a still image or video frame. The face recognition problem is challenging as it needs to account for all possible appearance variation caused by change in illumination, facial features, occlusions, pose, face expression, identity etc. It has received a great deal of attention over the last few years because of its many applications in various domains.  This paper presents a general framework of facial recognition and reviews various techniques of facial recognition especially neural networks which has emerged as the best technique for facial recognition. This paper also discusses various applications of facial recognition.
